Privacy Policy

Vagabond Writers Collective (“VWC,” “we,” “us”) operates vagabondwriters.org. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

We collect only what we need to run the service. We do not sell your data.

Information you provide directly

• Email address and name when you create an account, join the waitlist, or submit an application
• Writing submissions you upload to course assignments
• Comments and feedback you post in workshop threads
• Payment information processed through Stripe (we do not store card numbers)

Information collected automatically

• Basic usage data (pages visited, actions taken) through Vercel Analytics
• Authentication session tokens managed by Supabase

• To operate your account and provide access to courses and workshops
• To send transactional emails: enrollment confirmations, assignment notifications, workshop reminders
• To send the waitlist confirmation and cohort announcement emails you signed up for
• To process payments for course enrollment
• To improve the service

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not share it with third parties except as described below.

We use a small number of third-party services to operate the platform:

• Supabase: database and authentication. Your account data lives on Supabase infrastructure.
• Vercel: hosting and deployment.
• Resend: transactional email delivery.
• Stripe: payment processing. Stripe’s privacy policy governs payment data.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We choose services that take data handling seriously.

Your writing submissions belong to you. We do not claim ownership of work you submit to workshops or upload to the platform. We use your submissions only to operate the workshop service: sharing them with your cohort and instructor as part of the course.

We will not publish or reproduce your work without your explicit consent.

• Access: You can request a copy of the information we hold about you.
• Deletion: You can request that we delete your account and associated data.
• Correction: You can update your account information at any time from your account settings.
• Opt-out: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email we send.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial record-keeping purposes.

We use only functional cookies: session tokens required to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify active users by email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
